The order of appearance that is followed for the consonants in Kashmiri is similar to that of Hindi, when written in Devanagri. Thus our first set of consonants is as indicated:

Pronunciation and Illustrations
K, k is pronounced the way one would pronounce K in the English word KILL. Kashmiri examples:

KH, kh is equivalent to the same combination in the common Moslem title . Examples include:

G, g has the same sound as the letter G in the English word GIRL. Kashmiri words using this sound include:
