The Vowels
 

Coming up now is the fifteenth vowel that is used in Kashmiri. The symbol is very familiar, and looks like this: an O with two dots (umlaut) on the top. This symbol represents the sound formed by the combination of the English vowels O and A to give a short (OA) sound; the sound is akin to the sound of the letter A in the English word 'WASP'.
