The Vowels
 

Going strictly by the rule laid down earlier, we now realize that the following vowel, by virtue of the macron on the basic vowel I, i is to be pronounced the way we pronounced the preceding one, although the sound has to be "extended".

Obviously, this vowel is pronounced the way one would pronounce the letters "EE" in the English word FEET.

The following are some Kashmiri words which use this vowel:
