ON SIGHT-SEEING IN KASHMIR

A conversation on the places worth visiting in and around Srinagar. The main tourist attractions mentioned are Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Wular Lake.

Ashok: Greetings, Mohan.

Mohan: Greetings, what's new?

Ashok: I am thinking of going sight-seeing outside Srinagar. (Please) tell me how I should go about it.

Mohan: Do you like horseback riding, boating, or hiking?

Ashok: I like both horseback riding and boating.

Mohan: How many weeks do you want to spend sight-seeing?

Ashok: On or two weeks.

Mohan: Very well, for horseback riding you go to Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Wular Lake is the best place for boating.

Ashok: How far is Wular Lake?

Mohan: It should be about thirty miles from Srinagar. But from Wular Lake you can also go to Bandipur and Gurez.

Ashok: Where does one get the bus or taxi for sight-seeing?

Mohan: You can make all the (necessary) arrangements at the Tourist Reception Center or at Amira Kadal.

Ashok: Does one also get literature (books) about these places at the Tourist Center?

Mohan: Yes, of course, everything.

Ashok: All right. Sorry, I have to go now. Goodbye.

Mohan: Goodbye.
