GRAMMAR

  • The use of 

  • is used in Kashmiri in two different senses. First, in the sense in which it is used in this lesson, meaning 'no, that is not correct'. Thus, it contradicts a statement. Second, it is used to express surprise, e.g., 

    'Did you know that Sheela was run over by a bus?' and the response may be

    'Oh, no. What happened?'.
  • The use of 

  • means 'one-by-one' and indicates a type of sequential order.
